Encourage your friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers who are veterans to become members of the American Legion. Every new member brings us a little closer to restoring the main building and makes every sunset a little more fun!Know any non-veterans that like to support veterans and contribute to good, local causes? Encourage them to join the Post 199 Sons of the American Legion or Post 199 American Legion Auxiliary. There are always membership applications at the Canteen and Tiki-bar

Honorary Auxiliary Members Program:

The Auxiliary is now welcoming female Legionnaires to join our Honorary Auxiliary Members Program. Any female Legionnaire who is in good standing as a post member is welcome to participate in our meetings, fundraisers, veterans community programs, educational programs, and social events. As an Honorary member, you will not have to pay our membership fee, but not be able to vote. So come hang out with the girls because after all, “Girls just wanna have fun!”

MEMBER NEWS:

Reminder to all Dogs are allowed in the Tiki Bar and beach. They must be on a leash and under positive control. No exceptions!! We will be posting this on our Facebook page as well to ensure the community enjoying our facilities and activities are aware of our regulations. We had a minor incident so we are trying to prevent further issues.

We have a busy schedule for the summer with events and work. We will be posting a volunteer sign-up sheet in the canteen. If you are able to assist, please leave your name and contact information & available dates.

We Encourage everyone to dust up personal plans in the event of a natural disaster. This hurricane season has gone active earlier than normal. We are looking for a donation of outdoor fans for the tiki area to help with keeping the heat down and the gnats away. They have been downright awful this year. Please be mindful of your surroundings. Bug spray, cigar, and cigarette smoke should be kept a good distance away and down wind of the crowd and bars. Thank y’all so much for the continued support of our Post 199 and all of our events. We love seeing your smiling faces day after day and week after week. Please continue to show up for us as we plan bigger and better events for the whole family to enjoy. Mahalo!

Koozie Donations are needed for the summer season.

Dock is for members and guests accompanied by members.

Can Tabs We are collecting can tabs. If you have any you would like to bring us from what you have collected at home they must be washed in a bag or container. We would love to have them!

We Want You! The Auxiliary is now welcoming female Legionnaires to join our Honorary Auxiliary Members Program Any female Legionnaire who is in good standing as a post member is welcome to participate in our meetings, fundraisers, veterans community programs, educational programs, and social events. As an Honorary member, you will not have to pay our membership fee, but not be able to vote. So come hang out with the girls because after all, “Girls just wanna have fun!” Members should self police the beach during the day and we need to make sure that we are picking up after ourselves, and if you see trash please put it in its home not on the ground or beach.

Crabbing at the American Legion Pier Ensure that if you place a crab trap at our pier it has your name on the upper part of the string so it is readable. Anyone removing crabs from someone else’s trap without their authorization will be immediately suspended from our post. Minimum suspension is 90 days. If they are not members of our post we reserve the right to press charges for trespassing and theft of property. Please when the canteen is open you may not bring personal alcohol for consumption by the beach. No coolers or drinks are allowed at the post when we are open for business.
